Port Macquarie, NSW, October 24, 2019 - Häuslein Tiny House Co, (www.hauslein.com.au) is excited to unveil two new tiny house models – the Little Sojourner and the Grand Sojourner.
Designed and built entirely in Port Macquarie NSW, the Little Sojourner is the smallest addition to the Häuslein family of high-end tiny houses. At 6m long, 2.5m wide, 4.3m tall with an innovative Slide-out Section it has 20 sqm of living space making it gorgeously compact but very liveable. The Little Sojourner has room for 1 queen bed in the loft, 1 bathroom/laundry as well as a full spec kitchen, and flip up deck. Rated at 3.5 tonne with full off-grid capability, it can be towed by many 4WD vehicles giving owners the flexibility to relocate it themselves.
The Grand Sojourner is the largest model in the range of Häuslein tiny houses. At 9m long, 2.5m wide, and 4.3m tall there’s 32 sqm of living space. The Grand Sojourner has a downstairs bedroom and 2 lofts which makes it possible to sleep up to 6 people. There’s also a full spec kitchen, living space and bathroom/laundry. Rated at 4.5 tonne with full off-grid capability and customisable floor plans it maximises the liveable space for owners.
Led by experienced craftsman Scott Rohdich, each tiny house model is wholly built in their Australian workshop with the highest quality materials and workmanship. This includes a duragal chassis, termite resistant timber frames, stunning Trimdeck matte finish colorbond cladding with western red cedar feature cladding, solid pine internal paneling and Cypress Pine benchtops and flooring.
The demand for affordable housing paired with an increasing desire to live minimally with a reduced carbon footprint has led to a demand for tiny houses. The launch of the two new models addresses more of the market and makes affordable housing more realistic. With no need for a 30 year mortgage, high deposit or static location – these tiny houses on wheels are registered as a caravan and can be purchased with a variety of finance offers.
The ‘Häuslein’ brand name means ‘little cottage’ in German and is a nod to Sarah and Scott’s heritage and is synonymous with German manufacturing processes.
The young couple run the business together with two other directors, Sam Verlaan and David Boyd. The team believe in the company’s mission: to simplify how people live.
For company Co-Founder Sarah Rohdich it’s also a way of life:
“As a young family we are personally drawn to simple and sustainable living and prefer to forgo a draining 30 year mortgage. We love being able to put our own tiny living experience, as well as Scott and Sam’s trades experience into every aspect of our designs. This ensures that each design decision leads to maximum liveability, durability, aesthetics and functionality.”
Launched in 2018, Häuslein Tiny House Co aims to disrupt the housing market and showcase a simpler, more sustainable and meaningful way of life without compromising on the finer finishes found in quality home builds. Going from strength to strength, the company aims to bring manufacturing jobs to a regional town while facilitating Australia’s rising demand for high-quality tiny houses.
